Madagascar Names New Prime Minister to Lead Government
During the ceremony at the presidential palace, Randrianirina highlighted his need for Rajaonarison’s "integrity," noting the appointee’s long-standing work in anti-corruption efforts. "We must show the Malagasy people that the nation needs upright and incorruptible individuals," the president said.
Randrianirina also emphasized that he expects the new prime minister to quickly form a government responsible for implementing the national refoundation policy and achieving tangible results as soon as possible.
Prior to his appointment, Rajaonarison served as director general of Madagascar’s Financial Intelligence Unit, the national body tasked with combating money laundering and terrorism financing.
This decision follows the dissolution of the previous government led by former Prime Minister Herintsalama Rajaonarivelo, which occurred six days earlier.
